It’s also a favorite technique of mine if the client cannot provide decent footage or there is no time for shooting.

I acquired some 3D glasses earlier this year while working on a project using this technique. I wondered how difficult it would be to render them out as analgyph video, and how well it would turn out. Here is the result! Get out your Red/Blue 3D glasses and enjoy! I think they turned out pretty cool.

Since I have taken a full-time job in Dallas at Fellowship Church, this blog will probably start to feature much more silly & personal experiences of mine. I’ll still be posting new video projects and tips, but it will hopefully start to be more than that. Anyways, on with the story…

Beating Ninja Gaiden for the NES has been a dream of mine for a long time. I was never able to come close as a kid. After watching the “Angry Video Game Nerd” give his recent review, it inspired me to go back and beat this game. Here’s the result of lots of practice, memorization, and dedication.

It’s not impossible! You can do it! Thanks to Ryan for coming over and helping!

This footage has been way too late in coming, but better late than never! Featuring Lazarus, the awesome Kenyan guitar player at the Samburu Serena lodge we stayed at on our way back from Turkanaland this past summer.

Funny story: we noticed he was taking requests so I told Aaron that I would give him 200 Kenya shillings if he would go request Hakuna Matata as a joke. Lazarus gladly agreed to play the song, but as it turns out there is a popular song in Kenya named “Hakuna Matata” that is NOT from the Disney movie.

Needless to say, it became our anthem for our time on the safari. And even though we didn’t know any of the lyrics we sang it all the time.

This safari footage features giraffes, elephants, leopards, dikdiks, and lions in their natural environment. It was an amazing experience! Enjoy!

Oh and for you videographers that read my blog, this was shot on a Canon XH-A1.

Finally, here is the culmination of hours and hours of work. This is the promotional video I put together for Share International, Inc. from all the footage I shot on my trip to Kenya this summer. It was an amazing experience and I look forward to producing more of these types of projects in the future. Seeing God at work is amazing. People’s lives are being changed for the better and I was glad to play a part in it.

And praise report, Turkanaland received a much needed 6 hours of rain the other day!

I’m hard at work on the Share International fundraising video from all the footage I shot in Kenya in June. It will be shown at the fundraising banquet next month and sent to churches all over the country to raise support and awareness for the minitry of Share International in Turkanaland, Kenya. I really feel like God is going to some amazing things with it.

I just completed my first rough edit with my voiceover as a placeholder. It came out to be right at the 7-8 minute mark which was my goal since I even left for Africa. I’m so excited and I can’t wait to post it. I’ve still got to color grade and get a new voiceover, but it should be done within the next week!

More cool things are coming! And a some unrelated exciting news coming Oct. 1 (at least it’s exciting for me)!
