For this project, the client was desiring something a little “edgier” to corroborate with their new marketing campaign. The dynamic lighting and camera movement on the vehicle shots along with the urban-vibe motion graphics really brought the whole piece together.

I really enjoyed working on this commercial. I came up with the concept based on some of the statistics the client gave me. Since shooting a snow scene was out of the question for spring in Louisiana, I decided to animate it. That also allowed me to easily get a perfectly seamless transition between the seasons.

This commercial was a challenge because I was in between camera purchases, so I only had my lowly HV20 at my disposal. But this goes to show that with some careful preparation, you can make these little camcorders sing.

Skyjacker – Conquer Nature

The nature shots were a blast to shoot. It was just such a peaceful and relaxing experience. I just took the camera and tripod and walked around Kiroli Park in West Monroe for a few hours trying to capture that “perfect” shot. And then the trucks were fun too because we had professional racer Todd LeDuc driving one of the trucks.

These animations were created from still images alone. They are extremely time-consuming if you want them to look right, but they sure do look cool. At least I think so, but I’m probably a little biased.

This was an extremely exciting short-film project. It was certainly the biggest project I’ve been a part of so far. We had an actual crew! I was nervous using the Red since it is such a heavy and expensive piece of equipment, but I was extremely pleased with the images I was able to capture. 4K is very beautiful.

This was for a client out of Seattle. They wanted an animation featuring the stick-figure they use in all of their marketing. One of the more challenging animations as After Effects doesn’t have built-in support for inverse kinematics, but that’s nothing some expressions won’t fix.
